The event is organized by the Media Coding Industry Forum (MC-IF), a not-for-profit organization focusing primarily on the non-technical aspects of deployment of media coding standards. MC-IF was formed in September 2018 and has held events in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Macau (China), Sunnyvale (California), and Yokohama (Japan). The forum consists of four work groups that regularly organize online and face-to-face meetings; IP Ecosystem WG, Interoperability WG, Profiling WG, and Marketing and Outreach WG.
